{ May } Day oo9 - Day o13

Well, that certainly was strange wasn't it? Something really wanted you to stay in the house - but the wind seems to have died down in its howling, the chanting now silenced, and the shadows have parted way from the windows and doors to allow people to exit or enter once again.

The days
April 27th - May 3rd: Day oo9
May 4th - May 10th: Day o10
May 11th - May 17th: Day o11
May 18th - May 24th: Day o12
May 25th - May 31st: Day o13

Witching Hours
April 27th, May 4th, May 11th, May 18th, May 25th.

Weather
It always looks like it’s about to rain but it doesn't - not a single drop. The overcast is heavier than it once was, the fog remains as thick as it always has been, and the nights become pitch black save for the moon that seems to shimmer through the fog in a powerful eerie light. The overall temperature is still crisp and rests at a consistent 8c/46f.

Setting
If you're not yet sick of the mansion and decide to wander around a bit more, you’ll find a few things have changed.

To the right of the lobby and past the mudroom there is a door that is now unlocked. Some feet further down this hall there is another door that is now unlocked. These both lead the same place. Stepping inside you will see a vast--

LIBRARY.
There are a few tables and chairs for people to enjoy their reading and there seems to be a door in the bottom right corner that does not open.

Within this library are rows and rows of old leather bound books all still in very good condition for their age. They all seem to be written in Latin and most of it is poetry and various fictions, some religious tales. A very specific shelf near the upper left corner of the library has rows of black leather bound books. All of these are written in a language that does not seem familiar and have notes neatly scribbled in them in the same language. While it might not be possible to understand the writing, some of the graphics and symbols within them point to ancient alchemy and magic.

At the top of the staircase right center of the lobby were a pair of doors that were previously locked. These doors are now unlocked and lead you to:

THE SECOND FLOOR.
Many hallways intertwine around various sizes of bedrooms. Many of these bedrooms have only one bed and generous space to live in, however some can comfortably keep up to three people. All of these doors are unlocked part for one and be careful around that larger room that seems to fit six bodies, the shadows cling to every space within and they always seem to be watching you.

BEDROOMS
Each bedroom has a bed, a dresser with a mirror, a night table with a candelabra on it, a few chairs (depending on the size of the room) and a small fire place that always seems to be burning at a low ember.

STORAGE
These spaces have extra towels, sheets, soaps, and so on. However, it is often unnecessary as it seems as though any time you return to your room someone or something has cleaned up and refreshed everything.

BATHROOMS
All the bathrooms have a sink, mirror, bath, and toilet.

DOORS AT THE END OF THE HALLWAY
At the far end of both left and right hallways there seems to be a darkened stairwell. Attempting to climb will not get you far as about three steps in you hit a complete blackness that will not let you pass.

No new items found.

Plot
There is a relative calm throughout the city in these next few weeks. The Witching Hours, while still awful, seem to have a mildness to them should you remain within the mansion.

Witching Hour, Day o13.
The bells that ring to identify zero hour on this day seem longer than usual. Their slow and deep resonating ring continues until it becomes clear that the sound is a Death Toll. Sirens cannot be heard during this Witching Hour. Instead, the Death Toll continues to ring and that strange indecipherable chanting envelopes the entire city and a smell of myrrh carries itself throughout.

If you go outside during this witching hour you will notice that everything is still and calm. Nothing comes up out of the swamp. The bones in the labyrinth do not grab you. The fog does not speak to your fears or desires. There is a strange feeling of unity and peace.
